Addiction freedom
Set yurself free and live your best life
DISCLAIMER
While Registered Advanced BWRT practitioners are expert at helping to resolve the underlying or ongoing psychological causes, or drivers, of addiction, the International BWRT Institute is not a medical organisation and does not offer assistance with any physical or medical requirement, such as detoxification, substitute medication, or supplementation. Our practitioners work purely with the psychology underlying the addiction.
Repeat performance
Of course, you are not the first to become addicted to your ‘thing’ and you certainly will not be the last. And there are many who have been there before you, got themselves clean, and then gone straight back to their old behaviour a little while later.
This is what happens far more often than not when the underlying driver is not addressed and it has nothing to do with strength of mind, determination, or positive thinking…
It’s ALL to do with the subconscious.
Triggers and retriggers
One of the biggest problems with any addiction where underlying motivations and/or drivers have not been addressed is the abundance of triggers. After getting clean, the need or craving might lie temporarily dormant, but it only takes a sudden reminder from everyday life to stir it up and activate it again. It might even be an individual encouraging you to get back into it for whatever reason. At first, you can control it, but the clamour doesn’t stop for very long…
The permanent fix
To disable the triggers doesn’t mean trawling through the whole of your life looking for the original cause(s) or what started it all – it just means using the special BWRT process that has been successful hundreds of thousands of times before you to stop the triggers in their tracks.
It works far more quickly for many issues than you might believe and to most clients, it feels almost like being reborn but without the addiction, allowing them to get their life back.
“It feels almost like magic!” has been said far more than once!
The professional therapist
All BWRT Advanced practitioners are trained specifically in how to work with all addiction issues and the various problems surrounding the concept of getting clean – and you will not have to discuss anything you would really rather keep private.
Getting Clean
Getting clean is never going to be ridiculously easy – but it doesn’t have to be ridiculously difficult either with a modern therapy such as BWRT.
There are two things that can help enormously:
1. Accept responsibilty for the situation without beating yourself up about it. Whatever has you in its clutches is not important now. It’s in the past and you cannot change the past however much you fret about it or recognise the error of your ways.
2. Recognise the inescapable truth that no matter who did what, when, or why, you are the only one who can sort it out. Holding on to anger, resentment, or an urge to punish somebody is to hold on to the addiction.
Not all addiction is the same
It is a fact that some addictions are more easily resolved than others. Some are more behavioural, such as Gambling, Workaholism, Kleptomania, Pornography, Sex (these often behave like obsession) and are generally easier to resolve than are those that involve substances, such as Alcohol, Cannabis, Nicotine, Cocaine, Heroin, Amphetamines, although these can almost always be helped.
BWRT is not necessarily suitable for every form of addiction and on the rare occasions when it is not, the practitioner will be able to advise on alternative methods.
Gambling is one that so many people cannot free themselves from, but have a look at our special page on the subect
The BWRT Creed
All Registered BWRT Practitioners adhere to this creed and will seek professional guidance from senior BWRT Mentors where they deem it to be advisable or necessary.
The BWRT ethos is that the wellbeing of the client is paramount and therefore the BWRT Practitioner will ensure a constancy of demeanour and diligent application of their skills in the pursuit of that wellbeing.
The BWRT Practitioner is non-judgmental, completely understanding that nobody can control what they think or how they feel, only their response to such thoughts or feelings. The practitioner will apply their skills appropriately and without criticism to relieve distress and foster wellbeing.
Everybody has thoughts and feelings they prefer to keep to themselves and the BWRT Practitioner will not insist they be divulged. On very rare occasions, it is beneficial to explore such thoughts and feelings, but the Practitioner will make every effort to avoid that need.
